Artist Andrew Stott

About me:

I am a Contemporary artist who lives in Scotland but was born in Oldham, England. My distinctive personal style expresses my life and brings meaning to my work. Humanity, past and what is going on around us in the world is what I try to bring into my work with sometimes bright colours contradicting what you see. I welcome you to join me on my journey.

I have always enjoyed drawing and painting but was never pushed or encouraged to pursue this. I did not enjoy school and left with no qualifications. After working as an IT Administrator for most of my working life I was given an opportunity at the age of 50 to go back to college. I chose to study Art & Design at Dumfries & Galloway College starting at NC level. I am currently completing my HND and have been offered a place at university to finish my degree.
My journey so far has taught me so much about what art really is after thinking it was just drawing and painting. I have learnt ceramics, printmaking, drawing, painting, and the main thing was finding myself.
